Lisle man to spend 21st birthday in jail

A Lisle man began his birthday celebration Thursday morning on the run from police, authorities said.

DuPage County sheriff spokeswoman Dawn Domrose said deputies were investigating a group of men who gathered around midnight in an unincorporated area near Lisle when they approached Jason Brown, 21, of the 4000 block of Keller Street.

DuPage County State's Attorney Robert Berlin said when a deputy approached Brown he "squeezed her hand hard, pulling her fingers back and requiring her to wear a splint."

Berlin said Brown, who had multiple warrants out for his arrest, fled and was chased and apprehended by officers.

Brown has been charged with aggravated battery for injuring the deputy's finger and resisting a peace officer.

He is being held in DuPage County jail on $60,000 bail.
