Village of Schaumburg honored by Park District

The Schaumburg Park District Board of Commissioners at its Sept. 12 meeting recognized the Village of Schaumburg for being an outstanding 50th anniversary partner.

The Village of Schaumburg was incorporated in 1956 and supported the establishment and growth of the District since its inception in 1963. Elected officials and staff of the Village and District have worked together for the past 50 years to make Schaumburg a thriving community dedicated to maintaining an exceptional quality of life for residents.

The Village and District have brought baseball to the village through co-ownership of Schaumburg Baseball Stadium, now home of the Schaumburg Boomers. The entities collaborate on special events including the Summer Breeze Concert Series, Fahrrad Tour Von Schaumburg and Town Square's cultural arts programs.

The Village encourages an active and fit community through its extensive bikeway system and annual to Bike to Work Week activities.

Schaumburg Park District Park Board meets at 7:30 p.m. the second Thursday of every month at the Jerry Handlon Administration Building. The District honors an organization each month during its 50th anniversary.
