Schaumburg Summer Dance Concerts return June 7 to Town Square

Spend the first Fridays of the summer months dancing at Town Square.

Schaumburg Park District's free Schaumburg Summer Dance Concerts will kick off June 7 at the Town Square gazebo, located at the corner of Schaumburg and Roselle Roads. Arthur Murray dance instructors will lead free introductory one-hour foxtrot and swing dance lessons from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. The Eddie Harrison Jazz Quartet will follow the lessons with live music and dancing from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.

“The popular concert series returns for a third summer,” said Cultural Arts Supervisor Beth Waller. “This summer's concerts feature new dance styles and performers.”

The July 5 concert will feature salsa and merengue dance lessons with a performance by Paris Swing. The Aug. 2 concert will feature rumba and hustle dance lessons with a performance by Jump Stars.

Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs. Concerts are held weather permitting.
