Des Plaines residents and shoppers are reminded the 9th Annual Community Garage Sale begins Friday, May 17, 2013, for the 60016 ZIP code. Households in zip code 60016 may host garage sales from Friday, May 17, 2013, through Sunday, May 19, 2013.

The 9th Annual Community Garage Sale begins Friday, May 24, 2013, for the 60018 ZIP code. Households in zip code 60018 may host garage sales from Friday, May 24, 2013, through Sunday, May 26, 2013.

Participating households will have the $6 garage sale permit fee waived on these dates only.

Prudential Starck Realtors, located on the corner of Golf and Elmhurst Roads, is again promoting the sale by providing garage sale signs (limit 2) to participating residences and compiling a map of garage sale addresses. The deadline for registering and receiving signs for either sale is Friday, May 10. Shoppers may check the City website (www.desplaines.org) or contact Prudential Starck Realtors, 847-255-3900, for a map of garage sale locations.
