Des Plaines Police/Volunteers Prepare For "Holiday With A Cop

The Des Plaines Police Department recently coordinated a holiday gift wrapping event with Des Plaines Police and Fire Corps volunteers at the at the Frisbie Senior Center, Northwest Highway. Over 200 gifts were wrapped by volunteers at the Senior Center, thanks to Frisbie Senior Center President and CEO Stephen Samuelson who provided the facility for the occasion. The Police Department, in conjunction with Operation North Pole, a non-profit Des Plaines charity whose mission is to provide support to area families who are battling the emotional, as well as the financial, stresses of dealing with a life-threatening or terminal illness of one or more of their children, provided gifts to area families in need. The Des Plaines Police Department worked cooperatively with the local school district to distribute the holiday gifts at a “Holiday With a Cop” event whereby approximately 34 children, representing 16 families received presents and enjoyed food supplied compliments of the Restaurant Depot.
