Mundelein High offers student heart screenings

Mundelein High School students can get free cardiac screenings, courtesy of the Max Schewitz Foundation. The foundation is a nonprofit, grant-making foundation that raises funds specifically for research on and prevention of sudden cardiac death, as well as conservation and preservation of fragile species and ecosystems. The screenings will take place from 7:45 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17, in the school’s main gym. Parents must have student permission. Register online by Sunday, Oct. 14 at maxandthewildthings.com/custom_pages.php?menu_id=244. Nearly 30,000 students have received EKGs through this program.
