State House, Dist. 96: Senger

In the state House 96th District race, Dawn DeSart is a strong Democratic candidate.

Since getting elected last year to the Indian Prairie Unit District 204 school board, the Naperville resident has developed a reputation for being a committed and involved board member.

But in her bid for higher office, DeSart is facing an impressive Republican incumbent. Darlene Senger of Naperville has done a good job representing the district during her first term, and she has clear ideas on how to further reform Illinois' pension system, including increasing employee contributions and capping final average salary calculations.

She would like to start by revising the pension that state lawmakers receive.

Senger should be given the opportunity to push for reform. She is endorsed.
