Lake County egg hunts, Easter activities

Many local communities are holding Easter egg hunts and other related events.

Antioch

Antioch's Eggcellent Easter Adventure: The Village of Antioch's Department of Parks and Recreation is looking forward to a bright spring day to hold the annual Easter parade on Saturday, April 3. The parade will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Skidmore Drive and head north on Main Street to Williams Street again this year. The annual Easter egg hunt follows in Williams Park. Fox Lake

Egg-Citing Egg Hunt: At 10 a.m. Saturday, March 27, at Veteran's Park on Washington Street in Fox Lake. Bring out the little ones for an exciting egg hunt. Gurnee

Lunch with the Easter Bunny: Event from 10:45-11:45 a.m. or 12:30-1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 27, Viking Park Dance Hall, 4374 Old Grand Ave., Gurnee. Enjoy a lunch of hot dogs, chips, beverage and dessert, and have the opportunity to visit with the Easter bunny. Children under 12 months are free. Following lunch, there will be an Easter egg hunt outdoors. $7 per person for Gurnee residents, $9 for nonresidents. Children must be accompanied by a paying adult. Grayslake

Annual Egg Hunt: Saturday, March 27, at 9:30 a.m. for ages 2 and under, 9:45 a.m. for ages 3-4, 10 a.m. for ages 5-6 and 10:15 a.m. for ages 7-8. Grayslake Park District Rec Center Gym, 240 Commerce Drive, Grayslake. "Mr. Bunny" will appear, and no child will go away empty-handed. Egg Coloring Fun: Register for event 5:45-6:45 p.m. Wednesday, March 31, Grayslake Park District Rec Center MPRB, 240 Commerce Drive, Grayslake. Ages 3-5 will color eggs and decorate cookies. Wear play clothes as color dye will be used. Cost is $18 for Grayslake residents, $22 for nonresidents. Call (847) 223-7529.

Egg Hunt With Twist: RE/MAX Center in Grayslake announced it will hold its 12th annual Easter egg hunt for the community beginning at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 3, at Warren Township Center, Washington and Almond avenues in Gurnee. This year's egg hunt will have a twist, said Richard Capoccioni, Broker/Owner of RE/MAX Center, in that participants are asked to bring donations of nonperishable food items for the Warren Township Food Pantry. Participants should come early to allow time to park and to get to the starting line by 11:30 a.m. Parking will be available at the Woodland Intermediate School, at the northeast corner of Washington and Almond avenues. The Easter egg hunt is for all Warren Township residents, and for children between 1 and 8 years old. Prizes will be awarded in three age categories for children. There will be more than 7,500 eggs to find and 300 prizes to be given away. There will also be time for photos with the Easter bunny and his friends before and after the hunt. Lindenhurst

Eggs Everywhere: Join us at Forest View Park, at 513 Forest View Drive in Lindenhurst, at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 27. We will have designated "hunting" areas for children 2 and under with parent and for 3- to 8-year-olds. There will be plenty of eggs for everyone! The eggs will be filled with prize tickets or candy. Libertyville

Bunny Brunch: Hippity, Hoppity, Easter's on its way! The Easter bunny is visiting Lambs Farm for the Bunny Brunch on Friday, April 2, and Saturday, April 3. Meet at the Country Inn Restaurant for a delicious meal and then head over to the garden patch for some Easter fun, including activities and a photo with the Bunny! There will be games, an art project and a snack. You can also visit Mr. Rabbit and get a surprise! We will have a special scene set up for you to take photos, so please bring your cameras! Friday Flashlight Egg Hunt: 8-9 p.m. Friday, March 26, Hart's Woods Park, Round Lake. Ages 9-12 can bring flashlights to search Hart's Woods for hidden eggs and treasures. Hoppin' Holiday Hunt: 9-11 a.m. Saturday, March 27, Sullivan Community Center, 635 N. Aspen Drive, Vernon Hills. Visit with the bunny, enjoy a magic show and a continental breakfast and hunt for brightly colored eggs. Weather permitting, the egg hunt will be outside. $7 per adult and $5 per child for Vernon Hills residents, $9 per adult and $6 per child for nonresidents; children under 1 are free.
