Tuesday

Home on the Range: Fun and laughs are guaranteed at the NISRA Foundation's seventh annual Women's Golf Outing on Tuesday. Randall Oaks Golf Course in West Dundee is the destination for a round of nine holes of golf with a western theme for women players of all ability levels.

Special contests in keeping with this year's theme, prizes, raffles, gifts and a delicious lunch are part of this non-competitive event which benefits local children and adults with disabilities in Northern Illinois Special Recreation Association community recreation programs.

Players also can bid on a male caddy that will provide treats for the foursome and assistance on the golf course.

Wednesday

Labor of Love outing: The Sherman Hospital Auxiliary will host its first "Labor of Love" women's golf outing on Wednesday at Randall Oaks Golf Course in West Dundee.

Proceeds from the outing will go toward the auxiliary's pledge to the Women's Birthing Center at the new hospital under construction.

Check-in will begin at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. The cost is $125 per golfer and includes golf, cart rental, continental breakfast, lunch and prizes.

The golf format will be a scramble. Golf contests on the course, including a hole-in-one contest, are part of the outing. McGrath Nissan in Elgin will provide a 2007 vehicle as the prize for the hole-in-one contest.

In addition, for non-golfers a Women's Day Out with Spa also will be offered. Spa services will be provided by Karena's Spa and Salon and can be scheduled in advance.

Thursday

Thrivent/Habitat for Humanity golf outing: Thrivent Builds, in cooperation with Habitat for Humanity, helps individuals in Chicago area achieve greater economic independence through building simple, decent, affordable homes. You can help local families facing critical housing needs by attending or supporting the Thrivent Builds Golf Outing or a day at the water park with the family.

The 18-hole scramble will be Thursday at Mt. Prospect Golf Club. The $150 registration fee includes greens fees, cart, lunch, dinner and tax-deductible donation. Saturday

Moonlight Golf: The Cary Park Foundation will host the fourth annual Moonlight Golf Outing from 6:30 to 11:30 p.m. Saturday at Foxford Hills Golf Club, 6800 S. Rawson Bridge Road.

This evening takes a new twist on the game as players compete in darkness using only the aid of glow-in-the-dark golf balls, illuminated flag poles, and the aid of the others in the foursome.

Funds from this event are used to provide opportunities for youth to participate in recreation programs, Park Statues Program, and donations to the Cary Heritage Fund. A portion of the registration fee is tax deductible. Registration is $75 and includes dinner, dessert, golf and prizes.

Space is limited to 96 golfers. Registration forms are available at the Cary Park District Community Center, 255 Briargate Road, or online at www.carypark.com. For details, call (847) 639-6100.

October 1

ACRC Women's Golf: The Adult & Child Rehab Center still has space available for golfers in its annual Women's Golf Outing and Tea, appropriately named "Tee to Tea."

The ladies will play 9-holes of golf Oct. 1 at Chalet Hills Golf Club in Cary.

On the course, ladies will be treated to refreshments provided by Duke O'Briens, Liquid Blues, the Woodstock Public House, La Petit Marche and TeaGschwendner Tea Bistro.

A $10,000 diamond pendant will be offered by Dalzell Jewelers as a hole-in-one prize.

After golfing, the women will enjoy a light dinner provided by Chalet Hills and a silent auction filled with items from area businesses.

The event is sponsored by Home State Bank and Woodmore Products Corp. To sign up for the event, volunteer or donate an auction item, call the Adult & Child Rehab Center at (815) 338-1707.
