Coaches hired at Naperville North, West Chicago

Naperville North and West Chicago announced Tuesday they have hired new boys basketball coaches.

Jeff Powers will take over the Huskies, and Kevin Baldus assumes the job at DuPage Valley Conference rival West Chicago.

Baldus is a 1993 West Chicago graduate who has been coaching at Glenbard West and Willowbrook the past few years. He will teach special education. Baldus replaces Kevin Gimre.

Powers is the former coach at Timothy Christian where he was 201-110 in 11 seasons. He replaces the retiring Mark Lindo.
