Trump executive to lead off breakfast series at MCC

The ABC Breakfast Series at McHenry County College kicks off its 2007-2008 series at 7:30 a.m. Sept. 26 with "Nothing Trumps Passion -- From You're Fired to You're Hired!" presented by Andy Litinsky, the youngest contestant on "The Apprentice" television show and first to be re-hired by Donald Trump, president of Trump Productions.

Now in its seventh year, the Academics, Business and Community Breakfast Series at MCC is a two-part series designed to bring the community together to explore the compelling issues of the day.

Previous breakfast speakers have included well-known experts in business, health, finance, science and world affairs to share their insights on relevant topics.

In addition to a featured speaker, the ABC Breakfast Series provides a hearty buffet breakfast.

Litinsky will share his beliefs that the ability to inspire and motivate others is all about passion; if you do not love what you do, then it is impossible to convince others to follow in your path. By working side-by-side with Mark Burnett, producer of "The Apprentice," and real estate billionaire Donald Trump, Litinsky has firsthand knowledge of how two of the country's most successful businessmen inspire and motivate others with their unbridled passion for success.

A workshop titled "It's Not What You Know -- It's Your Ability to Market What You Know" will immediately follow the breakfast from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the college, 8900 Route 14, Crystal Lake.

The ABC Series continues April 23 with John Cronin, a Hudson Riverkeeper, commercial fisherman and environmentalist, who will present "Change the World -- Start in Your Own Backyard." Cronin will provide a unique perspective on environmental issues and will use humor to express the "Think globally, act locally" philosophy.

Doors open at 7 a.m. and breakfast is served at 7:30 a.m. The half-hour-long address begins at 8 a.m. and is followed by a 15-minute question-and-answer period.

Breakfast tickets cost $25 each. Guests are invited to reserve full tables with seating for 10 for the breakfast. To purchase tickets, visit the MCC Web site. www.mchenry.edu/abc or contact Linda Buerger at (815) 455-8556 or at lbuerger@mchenry.edu.

The ABC Breakfast Series is hosted by the MCC Corporate and Continuing Education Division in partnership with the Friends of McHenry County College Foundation.
