Got a good-looking snow fort? Let's see!

Have you or someone in your neighborhood built an impressive snow fort or igloo? We want to see it. Send your snow fort photos (jpgs only, please) by Sunday, Jan. 25 to snowforts@dailyherald.com. Include your phone number and the address (not for publication) where the fort is; and some details about your fort and who built it. If there are people in your photo, tell us who they are. Want a census job? First, take the test

Several sites in the Northwest suburbs are hosting tests for people interested in nonsupervisory, part-time jobs with the U.S. Census Bureau. Bring an ID (passport or driver's license) and original Social Security card or birth certificate.

• Thursday, Jan. 22: 3:30 and 6:30 p.m. at Willow Creek Community Church, Room B207, 67 E. Algonquin Road, South Barrington.

Hanover Township to honor volunteers

Hanover Township is taking applications for the clerk's annual community service awards. Awards will be given in categories of adult volunteer, youth volunteer and senior volunteer; plus the Clerk's Choice Award and the business community service award. Candidates are judged on leadership, commitment and impact. Recipients will be honored at a banquet in March. Applications are available at township offices, 250 S. Route 59, Bartlett, or online at hanover-township.org.

Barrington seniors can get tax help

Sponsored by the Barrington Area Council on Aging, trained AARP volunteers will assist seniors with their taxes Feb. 5-April 11, by appointment. Call BACOA at (847) 381-5030 to sign up.

Sessions will be scheduled from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays at the BACOA office in Prairieview Building at The Garlands of Barrington, 6000 Garlands Lane, Suite 100, Barrington. Sessions will also be held Saturdays from 8-11a.m. at Barrington Bank & Trust, at 201 Hough St.
