Fenton Bison

Coach Dennis Cromer.

Last year 6-22, 3-6, third in the Metro Suburban Conference; lost 74-42 to Ridgewood in the Class 3A Gordon Tech regional semifinals.

Top players Emeka Umeadi, sr., G/F; Dan Montano, jr., F; Vince Esposito, sr., G/F; Cody Meyer, sr., F/C; Sebastian Baran, sr., G; Terrance Southward, sr., G; Will Payne, jr., C; Rob Palumbo, jr., G; Zach Piotrowski, jr., G.

Scouting report An already stiff MSC challenge with loaded Riverside-Brookfield becomes even tougher this year with the addition of Timothy Christian and Illiana Christian to the field. Fenton, despite struggles at both ends of the court last year, should be in better shape to compete. Umeadi, a third-year varsity member, can play both guard positions and control the boards. The 6-foot-3 Montano, out much of last year with a broken foot, brings post scoring. Esposito came on late last season as a perimeter threat and the team's top 3-point shooter. Meyer's another post scorer, and Baran adds depth to the backcourt. "From top to bottom, I think our depth is as good as it's ever been," Cromer said.
