Lake in the Hills man accused of sex abuse turns self in

A Lake in the Hills man accused of fondling a teenage girl turned himself in to police Thursday night as scheduled, police said.

Scott D. Morgan, 39 of 3935 Peartree Drive, is charged with one count of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, a Class 2 felony, for the one-time incident police say occurred in early May, said Mary Frake, chief of support services for the village's police Department.

Police secured a warrant for Morgan's arrest Thursday and he turned himself in on that same day between 8 p.m. and 8:15 p.m., Frake said.

Morgan was in the midst of posting a $5,000 bond Thursday and is due to appear in court 9 a.m. June 26 in Woodstock.

He faces between three and seven years in prison if convicted on the charge, Frake said.
