Community outreach specialist Jim Soreng of Chicago joined Resolute Consulting, Chicago, as a senior account executive responsible for working with clients and managing programs. Soreng, who began his career as legislative liaison in the office of the city clerk of Chicago, also served as a community affairs staff member at Metra commuter rail service; designed and managed an economic development program while with the office of the Illinois state treasurer; and served as regional manager of the economic development division of the state treasurer's office.
Jackie Gould, executive vice president and employee benefits practice leader with Assurance Agency Ltd., Schaumburg, was elected to the board of directors of the Professional Independent Insurance Agents of Illinois. As an at-large board member, Gould will work with other directors to approve all policy positions regarding insurance legislation and assist with management decisions impacting the association's long-term financial viability.
• Additionally, the Professional Independent Insurance Agents of Illinois elected Michael Linderman, vice president of The Insurance Center in Wheeling, to its board of directors as Region 10 director. Linderman will be the principal link between the membership of his region and the association.
• Luke Praxmarer, president and co-owner of Corkill Insurance Agency Inc. in Mount Prospect, was named vice president of the Professional Independent Insurance Agents of Illinois. Praxmarer will serve on the executive committee of the board, supervise the duties of the regional directors and act as an official delegate of the association at state and national functions.
Kelly M. Joyce, vice president with Colliers Bennett & Kahnweiler Inc., Rosemont, was awarded the certified commercial investment member designation by the CCIM Institute. Joyce has 19 years experience in industrial real estate.
Arlington Heights resident Peter Bower, the Chicago-based associate director of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, was elected to the board of directors of Community Health Charities of Illinois, the state's only workplace-giving federation exclusively devoted to health-related causes. Bower, as a member of the board, will work toward increasing the number of Illinois employers participating, to raise funds for leading health charities through workplace giving.
With 18 years of experience in the engineering of mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire-protection systems, Luke Leung joined A. Epstein and Sons International Inc., a Chicago-based architecture/engineering/construction firm, as director of mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering. Leung, who will provide management and direction for engineers, previously was an associate partner in the building services/sustainable design department at Skidmore, Owings & Merrill LLP.
