Pantry plans bucket brigade:
Woodridge Community Pantry is helping residents in need by sponsoring a bucket brigade during April. Those who wish to donate may fill a bucket with cleaning supplies such as laundry detergent, all-purpose cleaner, bathroom bowl cleaner, window cleaner, disinfectant, sponges and paper towels. Empty buckets are available from the Woodridge Community Pantry, 6809 Hobson Valley Drive, or you can fill your own. The buckets may be returned to the pantry from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays in April. For details, contact (630) 512-9921 or wcpinc.org.
Film festival seeks entries:
Students of all ages are invited to participate in the After Hours Film Society's seventh annual Student Short Film and Video Festival. The festival will be judged by film professionals and educators. Entries must be 30 minutes or less and submitted on half-inch VHS or DVD by June 30. Applicants must submit a completed and signed entry application (available at afterhoursfilmsociety.com) with a $20 fee and their VHS/DVD to: The After Hours Film Society, P.O. Box 3534, Glen Ellyn, IL 60138-3534. Winning entries will be screened and cash prizes awarded at a special After Hours Film Society program tentatively scheduled for Oct. 12. PADS plans Bowl-a-Rama:
DuPage PADS is seeking bowlers to participate in its seventh annual Bowl-A-Rama fundraiser to raise money to help the homeless. The event takes place from noon to 3 p.m. May 2 at Fox Bowl, 1101 Butterfield Road, Wheaton. Thirty team spots are available. Each team of five bowlers commits to raising $750. Individual bowlers commit to $150. Bowlers receive three games of bowling, all-you-can-eat pizza, soda, ice cream and raffle prizes. To reserve a spot, call Jen Williams at (630) 682-3846, Ext. 242.
