•Vandals smashed a mailbox at a home on the 17700 block of Winnebago Drive overnight March 13-14.

Gurnee

•Thieves stole the spare tire from three 2008 Ford vans at Gurnee Ford, 18834 Grand Ave., between 9 p.m. March 12 and 6:45 a.m. March 13. Total value was estimated at $750.

•Anne M. May, 54, of the 300 block of Douglas Avenue, Waukegan, was arrested around noon March 16 at Washington and North Greenleaf streets and charged with illegal transportation of open alcohol, driving under the influence and a traffic violation.

Ingleside

•Thieves stole a cell phone from a female student at Gavin South School, 25775 W. Route 134, March 11. No value estimate was available.

Lake Villa

•Vandals cut the telephone and alarm wires at a home on the 800 block of East Grand Avenue March 14. Damage was estimated at more than $300.

Lake Zurich

•Burglars broke a rear window at a business on the 100 block of East Main Street around 2:45 a.m. March 14 and stole a safe and other items. Total loss was estimated at $1,000.

•Burglars broke into a vehicle on the 700 block of South Rand Road around 8:40 p.m. March 14 and stole a GPS unit and other items. Total loss was estimated at $600.

Round Lake

•Kennith R. Westergard, 20, of the 22900 block of West Erhardt Road, Grayslake, and Christian E. Lebbos, 19, of the 1000 block of Jessica Drive, Wauconda, were arrested around 4:20 a.m. March 8 on the 500 block of Dalton Drive and charged with consumption of alcohol by a minor. Their court date is April 17.

Round Lake Beach

•Adan Chachon, 21, of the 800 block of Mayfield Drive, Round Lake Beach, was arrested around 1:50 p.m. March 12 at Kohl's, 230 E. Rollins Road, and charged with retail theft after he took merchandise valued at $138. Fernando Chachon, 25, of the same address, was arrested around 2:20 p.m. March 14 at Super Kmart, 400 E. Rollins Road, and charged with retail theft.

Vernon Hills

•Myoung W. Ku, 47, of the 200 block of Knightsbridge, Mundelein, and Soon J. Kim, 57, of the 1300 block of South Newport Street, Mundelein, were arrested March 10 after their vehicles were involved in a traffic accident at Butterfield Road and the railroad crossing. They were charged with traffic violations and driving under the influence. Their court date is April 1.

Volo

•Burglars kicked open the front door at a Ryland Homes house under construction on the 1000 block of Bellows Way overnight March 7-8 and stole 300 square feet of carpeting, eight light fixtures, a toilet tank, paint pump, extension ladder and dishwasher. Total loss was estimated at $2,165.

Wauconda

•Burglars stole undisclosed items out of a vehicle at an apartment building on the 100 block of East Mill Street around 1:30 p.m. March 11.
