Kenar starts construction on Roselle rowhouses

Defying so-called experts who argue that now is a bad time to build new homes, Kenar has announced it's starting construction on a new complex of six row houses in Roselle. Called The Townes at Park Street Crossing, the new development will feature two different, two-bedroom, 2½-bath floor plans, each measuring 1,845 square feet.

Both three-story models will include master suites with large walk-in closets, powder rooms on the first floor, partial basements, and two-car garages. One model, The Asbury, will contain a large breakfast area with an open view of both the living and dining rooms. The other model, The Brookstone, will offer a breakfast area with a breakfast bar providing views of the private balcony. The special pre-construction prices of the homes will range from $335,000 to $350,000.

"We're building The Townes now because we sense that the market's beginning to emerge from its funk, and we want to be able deliver homes exactly where people desire to live -- in a fast-growing area like Roselle," said Laura Johnson, director of sales and marketing for Kenar Homes.

Roselle is located just west of O'Hare Airport and just south of jobs-, shopping-, and dining-rich Schaumburg. Planned for the corner of Elm Street and Howard Avenue, the development will be close to Roselle's Metra commuter train station.
