Outlook: With seven players who either started or saw quality playing time a year ago, Travers believes it can be a promising season. “We should be better,” said Travers, whose 2009-10 team took MSL West champ Fremd to overtime before falling 40-35 last season. “It is a very tough conference this season.” The Cougars graduated Ashley Lindeman, who was one of the top players in the conference last season. A three-year varsity player, she averaged 10 points, 3 assists and 2 steals. Travers sees Barrington, Fremd and Hoffman Estates as the top teams in the West. Lomas, Fillingim, Heneghan and Rawleigh all had double-digit scoring games a year ago. Lomas scored a career-high 19 points in a double-overtime loss to Schaumburg.
