Crespo holds Draft-A-Bill contest
State Rep. Fred Crespo is hosting a contest for high school students to draft their own legislative bills.
The Draft-A-Bill contest gives individual students or groups a chance to learn about the legislative process down in Springfield.
Submissions should include a clear statement of the legislative idea, background facts with data and at least three supporting arguments. The bills should cover either education, health care, environment or renewable energy, economic development and job creation, disability services or public safety.
Entries are due March 1, 2011 to Crespo's office at 1014 E. Schaumburg Road, Streamwood IL, 60107. The winner or winners will receive a certificate of recognition from the House Representatives. The contest is open to high school students in the 44th District, which covers parts of Bartlett, Elgin, Hanover Park, Hoffman Estates, Schaumburg and Streamwood.
