District 211 walk raises $8,700
The Palatine-Schaumburg High School District 211 Foundation Charity walk on Oct. 17 raised $8,700. The 2.5-mile fun walk went through the Schaumburg Prairie Center for the Arts and the Spring Valley Nature Center.
After the walk, the District 211 board of education and teachers union held their traditional pancake breakfast for the walk participants. The money benefited these charities: Conant High School's Cougars in Need, the American Cancer Society, Hoffman Estates High School's Hawks Nest, the Palatine Family Crisis Fund and Ray Mills Fund, Schaumburg High School's Magic Closet, The Bridge and Shelter Inc.
