Jacobs taking nominations for Hall of Fame

The Jacobs High School Athletic Hall of Fame has announced that nomination forms for its inaugural class are now available.

The process of nominating athletes, coaches and individuals will continue through the school year with a deadline of March 1, 2011. Induction into the Hall of Fame will be in the fall of 2011.

The Jacobs Hall of Fame was adopted last month to recognize and honor all the great athletes, coaches and individuals who have given meritorious service to the athletic programs at Jacobs; to establish a motivational influence for Jacobs' youth to excel in athletics; and to promote and preserve good sportsmanship, scholarship and citizenship in the Jacobs athletic programs and community.

Space along the wall at the athletics and activities entrance to the high school is being reserved for the Hall of Fame awards.

Athletes must have graduated a minimum of five years ago to be nominated. Completed nomination forms should be submitted to Jacobs High School and to the attention of Jim Hinkle prior to March 1, 2011.
