Firefighter injured in Lincolnshire home blaze

One firefighter was injured in a fire in Lincolnshire Monday, officials said.

Lincolnshire-Riverwoods Fire Protection District officials were called to the fire at 104 Rivershire Lane at 3:20 p.m., fire officials said.

Units found a single story wood frame home with significant smoke showing from the siding and the roof, officials said.

Upon further investigation crews had discovered fire in the walls that extended to the roof. Fire fighters extinguished the flames in about 10 minutes, officials said.

One firefighter was transported to an area hospital with non life threatening injuries, officials said.

The Lincolnshire-Riverwoods Fire Protection District was assisted by crews from Buffalo Grove, Long Grove, Lake Zurich, and Northbrook, officials said.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, officials said. A damage amount has not been determined at this time.
