Wheaton names city's new finance director

A longtime Wheaton employee has been chosen to become the city's next finance director.

Robert Lehnhardt had been serving as Wheaton's acting director of finance since the departure of former Finance Director Mark Horton in December 2009. City Manager Donald Rose announced Lehnhardt's promotion on Wednesday.

Previously, Lehnhardt had been the assistant director of finance since November 1998. During that time, he was involved in the daily operations of the finance department and the supervision of its eight-person staff.

Before joining the Wheaton staff, Lehnhardt worked for five years with Northbrook as an accountant and as chief accountant.
