Barringtonbull; Vandals damaged the hood ornament and front license plate, and a portion of the front bumper was missing off a 2002 BMW 5401 in a bank lot at 201 S. Grove Ave. between 7 p.m. July 23 and 1 a.m. July 24. bull; Vandals used a rock to damage a black mailbox at a home on the 600 block of Bent Ridge Lane overnight July 20-21. Damage was estimated at $50. The damaged mailbox was a replacement for a mailbox damaged a week earlier. bull; Thieves stole a cell phone around 8:50 p.m. July 21 off a bench in Miller Park, intersection of Russell and Summit streets. The female victim was with a group of friends. She put the phone on the bench and discovered it missing a few minutes later. Value was estimated at $250.Schaumburgbull; Jose A. Resendiz-Valentin, 20, and Jasmin B. Ortega, 18, both of the 1300 block of Ports O Call, Palatine, were arrested around 9:35 p.m. July 20 at Woodfield Shopping Center and charged with retail theft.
