'New Tradition Chorus' performs at Huntley High School
The New Tradition Chorus will perform "Songs of the Decades" at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 19 at the Huntley High School Performing Arts Center, 13719 Harmony Road. Doors open at 1:30 p.m. The 2010 Illinois District Champions, New Tradition Chorus represented Illinois, at the Barbershop Harmony Society's International Chorus Competition in Philadelphia last July.
The New Tradition will feature popular songs from the 1940s to the '70s such as Big Band Days, Tuxedo Junction, Java Jive, Sh Boom, Mr. Blue, and Bye Bye Love; and Happy Together, a medley of Simon and Garfunkel favorites and more.
Other local barbershop talents also will be featured in the Huntley High School student quartets as well the Sun-Tones, a Sun City Huntley barbershop ensemble.
Tickets are $12 in advance, ($14 at the door) and $8 for students.
