Mundelein boys fourth in state water polo
Mundelein takes fourth: At Stevenson, Mundelein fell 16-15 in three overtimes to St. Ignatius College Prep in the state's third-place match.
Mark Alvarado scored the winning goal a minute into the third OT for St. Ignatius.
Pat Falconer's seventh goal of the match pulled Mundelein (27-9) even with 15 seconds left in regulation.
Will Davidson added 4 goals for the Mustangs. Sean Falconer added a pair, while Frank Lukacs and Nick Mandas also scored.
Mundelein lost to state runner-up Naperville Central 18-10 in the semifinals.
"You want to win your last game," Mustangs coach Rahul Sethna said. "This group was never at state before. Nobody knew what it was like and we've got a good group coming back for next year."
