Ingleside fire blamed on plumbing work

Plumbing work is being blamed for a house fire in Ingleside Saturday.

Ron Hoehne, chief of the Fox Lake Fire Protection District, said homeowners were performing work on pipes inside a closet in the home on the 34000 block of North Stanley Road when insulation caught fire.

He said the fire spread up the walls of the single-story home before the homeowners could snuff it out.

But, he said the fire was under control quickly, and the home was saved.

"The guys got a good jump on it and got it out pretty quickly," he said. "The was a lot of smoke damage in the master bath and hallway, but it'll be OK after a good cleanup."

He said no one was injured in the blaze. No damage estimate was available.

Departments from McHenry, Round Lake and Lake Villa responded to the call.
