Mundelein rolls to fourth straight win

Mundelein's boys volleyball team isn't showing any letdown following its first loss of the season last Friday in the Lake County tournament.

The Mustangs won their fourth match in a row Wednesday night, topping Libertyville 25-10, 25-18 to improve to 15-1 overall and 3-0 in the North Suburban Conference.

Patrick Lentz led Mundelein with 8 kills on 9-of-9 hitting, 3 blocks and 3 aces. Mitchell Baumgartner slammed 7 kills (11 of 11), and Andrew Roscoe delivered 5 aces and set 36 of 37 with 18 assists.

Stevenson d. Lakes: John Baader rang up 8 kills for the Patriots in their 25-10, 25-18 win.

Danny Gescheidle added 5 kills for Stevenson (8-6, 2-1 North Suburban), and Zach Kravits dished out 13 assists on 30-of-31 setting. Bryan Kim and Nik Antonijevic each posted 2 solo blocks. Matt Swaback had 6 digs for the Patriots.

"Stevenson played very well," Lakes coach Wayne Schultz said. "They outplayed us defensively."

Mike Burchard and John Sieracke pounded 6 and 5 kills, respectively, for the Eagles. Mark Molloy had 11 assists and 6 digs.

"Mike Burchard had a strong night for us offensively and, as always, John Sieracke was very good out of serve receive," Schultz said. "We need to raise our level of defensive play in order to compete at a higher level."
