Arlington Heightsbull; William Ilkka, 29, of the 300 block of West Brentwood, Palatine, was arrested around 2:45 a.m. April 10 on the sidewalk at 1330 E. Rand Road and charged with battery, battery to a police officer, criminal damage to state supported property, and resisting arrest after he hit a 45-year-old man on the head with a stick, shoved a police officer, and kicked an officer in the thigh when the officer tried to get him out of a squad car. Ilkka had been placed in the back seat during the arrest, but he kicked and broke the rear driver's-side window and bent the window frame. Officers used a Taser to subdue him. His court date is May 7.bull; Richard L. Linden, 31, of the 900 block of Monroe Drive, Freeport, was arrested around 7:25 p.m. April 10 at the Red Roof Inn, 22 W. Algonquin Road, and charged with possession of marijuana. Officers on routine patrol were notified that someone was smoking marijuana. They called for a police dog who smelled the drug outside Linden's guest room, and officers saw the marijuana through the window. Dundee Road, and charged with retail theft after she took two pairs of earrings valued at $57.
