Police on Hainesville agendaHainesville village board members are expected to review feedback from a recent town hall meeting about the future of police service during their meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 9 at Hainesville Village Hall, 100 N. Hainesville Road. Officials are considering whether to keep the village's police force or contract for service from Grayslake, the Lake County sheriff's office or Round Lake Park. Mayor Linda Soto says she wants a decision by the end of this month.Water outreachThe Fremont Township well and water committee will sponsor a community outreach on clean water availability and water conservation from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 13 at the Fremont Public Library, 1170 N. Midlothian Road, Mundelein. All are encouraged to stop by and learn about the efforts being taken to keep the local water supply safe.Call for artistsThe Lake County Heritage Farm Foundation, in cooperation with the Lake County Discovery Museum and Lake County Art League, has issued a call for entries for artists, 18 or older, from Illinois, Wisconsin and Indiana. The topic is farm scenes - buildings, equipment, animals, farm fields, crops, and people. The art will be juried, and prizes will be awarded. Work of winning artists will be displayed at the Discovery Museum at Lakewood Forest Preserve from Aug. 21 through Nov. 14. Work will be judged on originality of concept, technical expertise and emotional impact.
