Man robs Glendale Heights bank Friday
Authorities are looking for a man who robbed a bank in Glendale Heights late Friday afternoon — and they believe he may be the same person who robbed a bank in Wheaton on Monday.
Glendale Heights police said the suspect left the TCF Bank at 567 E. North Ave. with an undisclosed amount of money after he approached a bank teller and implied he had a weapon. Officers responded to the bank robbery at 5:27 p.m.
They say he exited from the northeast corner of the building and headed in an unknown direction on foot.
The suspect is described as a 5-foot-7-inch tall black male, about 20 years old, with a medium build, wearing a dark brown jacket, black winter hat with flaps and dark rimmed glasses.
On Monday, a man fitting a similar description robbed the Fifth Third Bank at 1500 N. Main St. in Wheaton. Police said the suspect approached a teller, handed over a note demanding money and implied he was armed, though no weapon was displayed.
Anyone with information about the Friday robbery is asked to contact Glendale Heights police at 630-260-6070. Wheaton police are investigating the Monday robbery and can be reached at 630-260-2161.
