Scouting report: Travers’ seventh team at Conant has a mix of upperclassmen, sophomores and freshmen. Kutrumanes and Bauch are returning starters. “Natalie has worked hard in the off-season to develop her skills and she can be one of the best post players in the conference,” Travers said. “Allie is a three sport athlete in volleyball, basketball and softball (all-area shortstop). She will be our point guard and at times play on the wing. She has the athleticism and ability to help carry our team.” Also returning from last season is Bartuch, Hoffman, Linderman and McCutcheon. “All of the seniors are providing great leadership in helping develop our younger players,” Travers said. “We’re getting better every day and looking forward to the challenge of competing in the MSL.” With the blend of seniors and underclassmen, the Cougars hope to be a factor in the MSL West race. “It will be extremely tough because there is good balance with several teams having a chance to compete for the championship,” Travers said.
