Driving range food “drive” to benefit Libertyville Twp. Food Pantry
Golf and a food “drive” will combine together at the first ever Village of Libertyville Sports Complex Driving Range “Food Drive” during the months of November and December to benefit the Libertyville Township Food Pantry.
People can donate canned and non-perishable food items at the Sports Complex Driving Range, and golfers donating 2 or more food items during the 2-month food ‘drive' will receive a 15 percent discount off the purchase of any priced Golf Range Card for each food donation visit.
“We're hoping this food ‘drive' goes right down the middle of the fairway in helping others”, said Conrad “Connie” Kowal, Sports Complex Director for the Village of Libertyville. “It is the holiday season of giving thanks and giving to others, particularly those who need food from the Libertyville Township Food Pantry.”
“This Driving Range ‘food drive' will help the Township provide food for those families in need.” said Kathleen O'Connor, Supervisor of Libertyville Township. “The pantry is constantly being restocked throughout the year. We are seeing an increase in the number of people coming to use the pantry. We are grateful the Village of Libertyville is assisting us in meeting this need.”

The Driving Range at the Libertyville Sports Complex is open 12 months a year with winter hours 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily. It is the only “full flight” driving range in Lake County open during the winter months, featuring heated, automated Tee Stations and lights, and is located at the corner of Peterson Road and Route 45 on the northwest side of Libertyville.
