Jacobs defeated in Quincy opener
A buzzer-beating 3-pointer in overtime cost the Jacobs boys basketball team a win over Poplar Bluff (Mo.) Thursday night in the opening round of the Quincy Thanksgiving Tournament.
The Golden Eagles, who trailed by as many as 5 points late in the fourth quarter, fell 50-49.
Alex Glover led Jacobs with 14 points and Will Schwerdtmann added 12.
Jacobs continues play in the tournament tonight when it faces Normandy. On Saturday, the Golden Eagles face host Quincy in the final round.
