Scouting Fenton at Riverside-Brookfield

Fenton (5-3, 4-1) at Riverside-Brookfield (4-4, 4-1)

Game time: 7 p.m. Friday.

Last week: Fenton 61, Elmwood Park 6; Riverside-Brookfield 37, Ridgewood 15.

Three weeks ago: Riverside-Brookfield 22, Fenton 21.

Outlook: This may be the most important game in series history. The winner claims the MSC title and earns a playoff berth. The loser's season ends. Fenton has 5 wins and is playoff eligible, but low playoff points require a sixth win to qualify. Fenton controlled three of the quarters in the first meeting, but R-B scored all 22 points in the second quarter and held on. Bulldogs leading rusher Nick Callahan powered the offense with 120 yards. Fenton's Chris Butz exploded for 291 yards and 3 touchdowns on only 11 carries in last week's win. Keep an eye on the linebacker tandem of Matt Szajnowski and Colin Byrne as they try to slow down the Bulldogs.
