Ogden Ave. to be focus of traffic safety campaign Aug. 16

Naperville Police Lead Multi-Jurisdictional Initiative Promoting Highway Safety

The Naperville Police Department will join forces with other law enforcement agencies along the Ogden Avenue corridor through LaSalle, Kane, DuPage, Kendall and Cook Counties in a special traffic safety campaign Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2011.

The purpose of the campaign is to increase the safety of motorists, utilizing the thoroughfare, through education and traffic enforcement. Our efforts will concentrate on speed and occupant restraint violations as well as other traffic violations.

The following 13 police agencies are expected to participate in the traffic safety campaign: Naperville Police Department, Aurora Police Department, Oswego Police Department, Kendall County Sheriff, Westmont Police Department, Clarendon Hills Police Department, Hinsdale Police Department, Earlville Police Department, Western Springs Police Department, Berwyn Police Department, Illinois State Police District 2, Yorkville Police Department and Chicago Police Department.

Each jurisdiction will implement their own enforcement action based upon the needs of their communities.

The Naperville Police Department would like to remind all motorists to “Buckle Up” and drive safely.
