My wife, Carol, and I were vacationing last summer in Door County. We headed to Sunset Park in the village of Fish Creek hoping to witness a nice sunset. We were not only blessed with beautiful sunset light, but enjoyed the good fortune of having the two-masted boat pass into the scene just at the perfect time to balance the composition!

Challenger is a Bald Eagle in the care of the American eagle Foundation. He is the first Bald Eagle trained to free fly into major sporting events during the national anthem. He was flying at Wrigley Field in honor of Memorial Day. Challenger is named in honor of the space shuttle crew, who were killed when it disintegrated shortly after launch.

Once in a while you get a shot, which when you view it laterreminds you of your own childhood. In this case the excitement of huge horses running by you close enough to hear their rhythmic breaths and their hoofs pounding the ground. This was taken at St. James Farm in Winfield.
