U-46 School News for Week of April 4
Larkin High School
On Friday and Saturday, April 8 & 9, the musical “Urinetown” will be presented at 7 p.m. in the school auditorium. Admission is $8 per person. The play will also be presented next Friday and Saturday, April 15 & 16. The school is located at 1475 Larkin Ave. in Elgin. Senior citizens 62 and over living within the school district may attend for free with proof of age.
South Elgin High School
On Saturday, April 9 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m., the SEHS freshmen and sophomore Class Councils will host Lunch with the Easter Bunny in the gym and cafeteria. Admission is $10 per child which includes a lunch ticket and a photo opportunity. Please bring your cameras. There will be bouncy games, a cake walk, face painting, duck pond, egg race, musical chairs and Bozo buckets. Proceeds will go towards paying for Prom and other service projects.
Streamwood High School
Thursday through Saturday, April 7-9, the musical “Phantom of the Opera” will be presented at 7 p.m. Admission is $8 per person. The school is located at 701 W. Schaumburg Rd. in Streamwood. Senior citizens 62 and over living within the school district may attend for free with proof of age. The musical will also be performed the following Thursday through Saturday, April 14-16. Eastview Middle School
On Monday, the Parent/Teacher Group (PTE) will host a presentation on cyber-bullying from the Bartlett Police Dept. The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. with the presentation at 7:15. All current Eastview parents are invited, along with the parents of 6th grade students who will be attending in the fall.
Centennial Elementary
On Tuesday, Curriculum Night will begin at 6 p.m. in the all-purpose room. Information will be presented on Everyday Math, the Lexia computer program and MAP testing.

Clinton Elementary

Fox Meadow Elementary
On Thursday, 70 students (35 acts) will perform in a talent show from 6-8 p.m. at the South Elgin High School auditorium. Admission is free.
Harriet Gifford Elementary

Lowrie Elementary
On Monday, the school will host a health clinic from 3-6 p.m. Services include school and sport physicals, shots, care for minor illnesses, lead and diabetes screening and more. Please call 847-608-1344 for an appointment. The school is located at 264 Oak St. in Elgin.
Ontarioville Elementary
On Tuesday, kindergarten registration will take place at 3 p.m. for bilingual students and at 5 p.m. for English-speaking students. Sunnydale Elementary
On Wednesday, a Spring Sing and Ice Cream Social will be held at the school. Students in the intermediate grades will sing in the gym at 6:30 p.m. Following that event, the PTO will hold an Ice Cream Social in the multi-purpose room from 7:00-7:30 p.m. featuring sundaes for $2.50. Culvers will provide the toppings. The PTO meeting will follow from 7:30-8:00 p.m.
Timber Trails Elementary

On Friday, the PTO will sponsor dinner and the movie “Yogi Bear” from 6:00-9:15 p.m. at the school.

On Friday, a Daddy/Daughter Dance will be held from 7-9 p.m. at the school.

The U-46 Elementary Art Show is currently running from 5-7 p.m. at First Community Bank, 50 Tyler Creek Plaza in Elgin at the intersection of McLean Blvd. and Big Timber Rd. Gallery hours are Monday through Thursday 9-5, Friday, 9-6, and Saturday 9-12. The visual arts exhibit continues through April 13.
