Stevenson FBLA students win state championships

Twenty-two Stevenson High School students placed in the top 10 and three captured state championships at the Illinois Future Business Leaders of America conference in Decatur March 25-26.

Alec Blumenthal (Introduction to Business), Chandru Rasendran (Business Math) and Robbie Thomashow (Marketing) won their events, and qualified for the national FBLA conference in Orlando June 28-July 1.

Matt Brown also qualified for nationals with his second-place showing in Introduction to Business Communications.

Stevenson's other award winners were:

Third Place: Brandon Levinson and Ethan Siegel (Global Business).

Fourth Place: Ellen Kaushansky, Sasha Kupershmidt and Alice Smelyansky (Business Ethics-A), Madhur Malhorta (Introduction to Tech Concepts), Tania Skyler (Hospitality Management) and Jaren Zacher (Business Law).

Fifth Place: Nikitha Duggirala and Sruthi Merneedi (Entrepreneurship), and Gerv Pandey and Akshay Ramachandran (Management Decision Making).

Sixth Place: Mike Lencioni (Job Interview), and Alex Sheck and Zach Sheck (Business Presentation).

Eighth Place: Alex Brard (Sports Management) and Dhruv Patel (Economics).

10th Place: Benny Jeong (Technology Concepts).
