Schultz is behind Dussling, Kreutzer and Petro
The April 5th ballot for the election of District 214 school board members will list two familiar names, William (Bill) Dussling and Alva J. Kreutzer.
Bill has been a member of the board for 13 years, and currently serves as its president. He is the recipient of the National School Boards Association's Award for Distinguished Service to Public Education, an honor given to approximately 1 percent of the nation's 95,000 school board members for demonstrating the highest commitment to public education.
Alva Kreutzer has been a member of the board for 12 years, and has served as its president in the past. She had previously served on the board of District 59 in Elk Grove Township.
Both of these public servants are rightfully proud of the fiscal accountability and educational excellence maintained by the District 214 board during their tenure. Consider the fact that there has been no tax referendum in the last 43 years, the budget has been balanced for 17 straight years. It has the highest financial rating given by the Illinois State Board of Education. All district schools have received the U.S. Department of Education Blue Ribbon Award, the curriculum is aligned with the new Illinois State Learning Standards, and ACT test scores continue to increase annually.
Joining the incumbents on the ballot is Dan Petro, seeking to fill the seat of retiring board member Bob Zimmanck. He has the experience of 12 years service on the Arlington Heights School District 25.
These three candidates firmly believe that providing our children with a superior education for a lifetime of learning is absolutely necessary for the community and the country. They are committed to the district, and will continue to serve it well.
Please join me in voting for them on April 5th.
