Training series offered by The Volunteer Center

The Volunteer Center of Northwest Suburban Chicago will be hosting another Excellence in Volunteer Management Training Series Jan. 25-27.

The EVMTS is a sequence of six courses that will provide participants with the tools and resources to implement an effective volunteer program in a nonprofit or government organization. The interactive curriculum is based on the newest research and effective practices in the industry, and is packaged in an easy-to-use format. This series was updated in 2010 by HandsOn Network. Participants will also have access to a different expert panel each day to answer questions.

The EVMTS Courses include Understanding Volunteerism and Risk Management, Planning Your Volunteer Program, Recruiting and Placing Volunteers, Orienting and Training Volunteers, Supervising Volunteers, and Evaluating Your Volunteer Program.

Chris Smith, TVC Chief Operating Office and Nonprofit Consultant, will be presenting with support from skills-based volunteers and TVC staff.

The workshop takes place at Forest View Educational Center, 2121 S Goebbert Road, Arlington Heights, from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m each day. This workshop is $60 per session. Sign up at www.volunteerinfo.net/agencies-workshops or call (847) 228-1320.
