Children's author, poet plays with poetry at Des Plaines library

Kids, come play with poetry! Acclaimed children's author and poet Janet S. Wong will read from her best-selling books at a special Poetry Play event on Sunday April 29 from 2 – 4 p.m. at the Des Plaines Public Library.

Other free activities for children and families on the library's 2nd floor include do-it-yourself poetry fun, readings by Central School young poets, Poetry Face Painting, Poetry Bingo and much more.

In addition to family activities on the second floor, Young Chicago Authors Youth Poets and the Maine West High School Louder Than A Bomb team will be performing poetry pieces on the third floor of the library. This event culminates a month of ‘poetic' activities at DPPL. April is National Poetry Month.
