Help Palatine HS boosters by test-driving a Ford
Arlington Heights Ford will be sponsoring a Drive One 4UR School fundraising event at Palatine High School, 1111 N. Rohlwing Road, from 8 a.m.-noon Saturday, April 28.
The PHS marquee has been in need of extensive repairs for the last couple of years, and with new technology it now has become more cost effective to replace it.
The entire Palatine community is invited to take part in this event, which will help raise funds toward the $25,000 goal to purchase the new marquee. Currently, $18,200 has been raised by the PHS V.I.P. Booster Club.
Participants can test drive a variety of Ford makes and models, including the Mustang, Edge, Escape, Fusion and Fiesta. For each test drive taken, Ford will donate $20 to the PHS V.I.P. Booster Club Marquee Fund.
Ford has pledged a maximum $6,000 donation to support the fundraising effort.
“We have found this type of event is a positive way to not only build relationships in the community and help our local schools, but also a positive way to communicate the Ford brand,” said John Guido, Jr., general sales manager for Arlington Heights Ford.
Participants must be at least 18 years of age, have a valid driver’s license and a limit of one entry per household will be permitted.
Those who participate also will be entered into a raffle, and could win a number of prizes, including $50 Visa gift cards, a $100 Abt Electronics gift certificate, a Blackberry phone (valued at $400), and six free carwashes ($72 value) from Delta Sonic.
Arlington Heights Ford previously held Drive One 4UR School events at Wheeling High School in May 2011 — which was attended by America Idol Haley Reinhart — in addition to an event in November 2011 at Buffalo Grove High School.
