Hampshire's Connie Ellett wins Barrington Invite

Hampshire junior Connie Ellett shot an even-par 71 Tuesday to claim medalist honors at the Barrington Invitational at Bonnie Dundee, and help the Whip-Purs to a school-record round of 336 and a fourth-place finish in the event.

St. Charles East won the team title with a 326, Highland Park was second at 327 and Rockford Boylan third with a 332.

Hampshire senior Taylor Ellett shot a 77.

The Bartlett/South Elgin co-op finished 12th with a 385. It was led by an 88 from junior Sam Coyne.

Huntley Invite: Crystal Lake Central won the nine-hole Huntley Invitational at Pinecrest with a 169. Host Huntley was fifth with a 218. Holly Bryden was the Red Raiders' top golfer, taking ninth place with a 45.
