Fremd recognizes its scholarship athletes

Feb. 1 was the collegiate National Signing Day, the first day a high school senior can sign a binding letter of intent to play football at an NCAA school.

Fremd High School recognized all its student-athletes intending to play collegiate athletics and receiving some sort of scholarship funds with its own version of National Signing Day.

The following six FHS student athletes were recognized on signing day:

Ÿ Emily Basten, Central Michigan, NCAA Division 1 soccer.

Ÿ Nate Serviss, Adelphi University, NCAA Division 2 lacrosse.

Ÿ David Mellado, Judson University, NAIA track and field.

Ÿ Jessica Weidemann, Valparaiso University, NCAA Division 1 basketball.

Ÿ Zach Kolakowski, University of Illinois, NCAA Division baseball.

Ÿ Brian Hindle, DePaul University, NCAA Division 1 soccer.
