Soldier’s body returned home for funeral

Visitation for 29-year-old Capt. Nathan McHone will be today and his funeral will be Sunday in Crystal Lake.

McHone, a 2001 graduate of Crystal Lake South High School, died Jan. 19 when a helicopter crashed in Afghanistan’s Helmland province.

Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. today at Davenport Funeral Home, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 932 S. McHenry Ave., Crystal Lake. Overflow parking will be at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 1023 McHenry Ave.

Burial will be at Windridge Memorial Park Cemetery in Cary.
