Bartlett High School

Thursday through Saturday, with a cast and crew of over 200 students and a live orchestra, Bartlett High School proudly presents its 13th annual spring musical "Hairspray." Performances take place in the Bartlett High School Auditorium at 701 Schick Road in Bartlett, at 7 p.m., with a matinee scheduled for April 17 at 2 p.m. Tickets are available through Virginia Strong at (630) 837-8817. All seats are reserved. Tickets are $12 for adults and $6 for students. Some tickets will be available at the auditorium prior to show time. Senior citizens 62 and over living within the school district may attend for free with proof of age.

Larkin High School

On Friday and Saturday, the musical “Urinetown” will be presented at 7 p.m. in the school auditorium. Admission is $8 per person. The school is located at 1475 Larkin Ave. in Elgin. Senior citizens 62 and over living within the school district may attend for free with proof of age.

Streamwood High School

On Wednesday, students who qualified for honor roll will have the opportunity to participate in game day at Gameworks in Schaumburg for the day. Lunch and tokens were included in the $30 price.

Kenyon Woods Middle School

On Monday, the annual Student vs. Staff Basketball game will be held after school in the school commons. Admission is $1.

On Friday, the PTO will sponsor “Mom's Night Out” from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at the school. They can meet with representatives from Pampered Chef, Tastefully Simple and BeautiControl and will be able to watch product demonstrations, have mini spa sessions and enjoy appetizers and “mocktails.” A portion of the proceeds will benefit the PTO.

Sycamore Trails Elementary

On Thursday, “Journey Back in Time” with the fifth-graders from 8:30-11:30 a.m. This is an interactive History demonstration. Students will interact with an outside group.

Timber Trails Elementary

Canton Middle School Student Council's 2011 Service Project

This year the Canton Middle School Student Council wanted to give back to the community by making fleece-tie blankets for the kids at St. Alexius Hospital. The kids who will be receiving the blankets are on an extended stay, and have not seen their bedrooms, let alone their homes for quite sometime. It was our goal to help make their stay a little more like home by giving them a blanket that isn't "hospital white", but most importantly letting these kids know that we are thinking about them and hoping for a successful recovery. So, on Thursday, April 14th, the following students will be taking a trip to the hospital to give their handmade blankets to the staff of the Children's Ward.

They are: Gabrielle Reyes, Angel Gallegos, Adith Doshi, Marlena Filipek, Jocelyn Ramon, Jordan Ankebrant, Lauren Welch, Kimberlee George, Allyza Ferrer, Delia Ortiz, Nijal Desai, Alexie Leon, Jessica Catotal, Austin Keating and Jason Pierce.

Reading teacher Heather Van Antwerp is their sponsor.

Resource Fair Presented by CAC and U-46 Special Education Department

On Saturday, the Citizens' Advisory Council and the U-46 Special Education Department invite you to come and learn how to obtain public services for individuals with disabilities. The Resource Fair will be held from 9:00 am-1:00 pm at the Elgin High School library, located at 1200 Maroon Drive, Elgin, IL.
