Daily Herald honored with 2010 Pathfinder Award

The Daily Herald is this year's recipient of the Pathfinder Community Support Award, given annually by the Pathfinder District in the Northwest Suburban Council of the Boy Scouts of America.

The award was presented Monday night at the district's February Roundable, and as the Boy Scouts of America celebrated its 100th anniversary nationwide. The Daily Herald was recognized for its efforts to publicize Scouts and Scouting activities and for its fair coverage.

Previous recipients of the Pathfinder Award include Schaumburg Flyers Baseball, the Schaumburg Septemberfest Committee, Irene Pudlow of District 54, Galyans/Dick's Sporting Goods, the Church of Latter Day Saints and Our Saviours United Methodist Church. The Pathfinder District includes the communities of Schaumburg, Hoffman Estates, Streamwood, Hanover Park and Elk Grove Village.
