First-grader wins fire truck ride to school

Carson Roehm, a first-grade student at Algonquin Road School in Fox River Grove, won a very special ride to school from the local fire department. Carson received this unique experience by raising the most money for the school's annual P.T.O. Walk-A-Thon fundraiser!

Lt. James Klein of the Fox River Grove Fire Department picked up Carson from his house in a shiny red fire truck (complete with lights flashing), drove him around town and then dropped him off at Algonquin Road School.

The following local businesses and families generously contributed pledges to Carson Roehm's walk: POSRG in Wauconda, Motorwerks in Barrington, Measure Up Costume Design in Palatine, Law Offices of Ernest Blomquist in Arlington Heights, Edible Ink PR in Chicago, the Bradshaws of Fox River Grove, Elaine Anderson of Grayslake and the Roehms of Inverness.
